On April 20, the American Library Association released its list of the 11 most challenged books of 2025 as well as an overview of what they saw concerning book bans and challenges at libraries across the United States this past year. “According to the ALA, 40% of the materials challenged in 2025 were representations of LGBTQ+ people and those of people of color.”
