Sapling issue # 818
The one in which we talk to Nico Léger, Katie Mihalek, and Vivian Walman-Randall of Fork Apple Press
Hi writers.
This week, I enjoyed taking a break from my typical doomscrolling to read this recent craft article, “On Beauty and Its Opposite: Writing Toward Aesthetic Force,” in LitHub. Authors Matthew Clark Davison and Alice LaPlante write: “Find what dazzles you and describe it, even if (especially if?) it also frightens or disgusts you. Make the image clear. Resist easy resolution. And don’t underestimate the power of beauty—not as decoration, but as revelation.”
Now, here’s what’s happening in the small press world this week.
