Hi writers.
This article on “10 Novels Agents Have Seen a Billion Times, and How to Make Yours Stand Out” by literary agent Kate McKean (who I happen to like quite a lot; I once took a publishing course she offered at NYU when I was first starting out!) is geared toward querying agents, but the content can be applied to submitting directly to publishers as well. I particularly appreciated this takeaway: “You can write anything you want. The key is to think about the reader, too.”
Now, here’s what’s happening in the small press world this week.
